Lifeline Program
The Lifeline Program is a federal program that provides a monthly discount on phone or internet service to eligible low-income households. Lifeline is limited to one benefit per household.
How to qualify for a Lifeline Program discount
You must participate in at least one of the following programs or be below the Federal Poverty Guidelines to be eligible for a Lifeline Program discount. The list below is not a complete list of programs.
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Medicaid
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit programs
- Head Start (only households meeting the income qualifying standards)
You will need to first prequalify for a Lifeline benefit in the National Verifier System prior to applying for the benefit with BARC Connects.
